About the Author
Dilip K. Chakrabarti is Professor of Indian Archaeology and Ancient History, Cambridge University. An eminent figure in South Asian Archaeology, he has undertaken extensive fieldwork in different parts of India, Bangladesh, and Iran. He has taught at several universities in India and abroad. Whilst at Delhi University, he established a departmental museum, and for some years edited the Bulletin of the Indian Society for Prehistoric and Quaternary Studies. He has published about twelve monographs, and has numerous contributions in refereed journals, books, and encyclopedias on South Asian prehistoric, protohistoric, and early historic archaeology.

Grant's roles have covered private enterprise, academia and the government sector around the world, specialising in global-scale systems design, development, and performance. He is a frequent speaker at industry and academic conferences, on topics ranging from data mining to compliance, and technologies such as databases (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), content management, collaboration, disruptive innovation, and mobile ecosystems like Android. His first Android application was a task list to remind him to finish all his other unfinished Android projects. Grant works for Google, and in his spare time is completing a Ph.D on building innovative high-technology environments. I really enjoyed this book.

I felt she made choices that were really very quite difficult and unusual for Victorian times. She stuck to her guns,, and like all of us, was made to bear the consequences of her choice.

I did not like this book. The woman in the story endures self-imposed difficulties, with no final accomplishment. Very frustrating and annoying story. Only suggested for those highly interested in women's studies.

Rambling and Disappointing

There are a lot of good lessons in here, but they are hung together in a completely incoherent style. I can't tell if this is a bad college textbook or a bad "bathroom" reader. I guess it's "bad" either way. I love the subject matter ordinarily, but in my humble opinion, colorful and instructive material was submerged in bad writing.
