probably meant for 3-4 year olds.

I felt this book was easier than I hoped it would be. I originally bought it for my 1st grader to see roughly how he might do when GATE tested this year. When he blew through it, I gave it to my 4 year old who also completed it easily by himself. It was a bit expensive so I was hoping that there would be challenges that we could discuss and work through together. However, I give it 5 stars anyway because the boys enjoyed it and it kept their attention. If you think your child is developing for the magnet program, I would recommend this book for 3-4 year olds.

I and my son really like the this book

I and my son really like the this book. I am trying to help my 4 year old son get ready for his g&t exam. I like the fact that the questions in here to make him think. We have been doing section by section. It's colorful and he enjoys doing it. It is so important to get him familiar with questions. I think that helps a lot. I also bought the NNAT book from this publisher. I would recommend this.

Incredibly expensive for what you get...I paid about $25. My 4 year old loved the questions but also said that these questions were not like the ones she had on the actual g&t test.

A Really Great Book on Agile

This book was by far the best one i have read on various aspects of Agile Project Management. It is written clearly with a minimum of unnecessary jargon and BS. Mr. Waters is clearly a well seasoned practicioner and the book is very practical and useful with great tips regarding the various techniques. I plan to use this book as the recommended text book for my University of California classes on "Agile for Everyone" Beyond just Software.

"Destiny's Gift" is a lovely pastel collage-illustrated book about an African American girl's reaction to the threatened closing of her favorite bookstore, Mrs. Wade's Bookstore. Destiny loves to learn new words from the dictionary with Mrs. Wade, and to help with little upkeep chores on Saturdays. To Destiny, words and books are like candy; she wants to gobble up more and more and learn as much as she can so she can be a writer some day. When Destiny learns that gentle Mrs. Wade may have to close the bookstore because the landlord has raised the rent and she doesn't have enough customers business to pay the increase, she takes action. A neighborhood block party to benefit the bookstore is organized. Destiny also decides she will create a special gift for Mrs. Wade, a book titled Mrs. Wade's Bookstore that tells all the special feelings and experiences Destiny associates with the kind and learned Mrs. Wade. Although the ending is uncertain, "Destiny's Gift" has a specially poignant message of empowerment for girls and women of color.

Destiny enjoyed writing and reading. She constantly carried around a notebook for jotting down her thoughts, and she gobbled up words from the books she read as if they were candy. Her love of the written word led Destiny to spend a great deal of time at Mrs. Wade's bookstore, browsing through books, meeting some of the authors, and helping Mrs. Wade around the store.

When Mrs. Wade told her one day that the rent had gone up and the store might have to close, Destiny became determined to mobilize the community and drum up new business. Would it be enough to keep the store from closing? With its bold cut-paper collage illustrations, this book provides young readers with a compelling account of some of the intrinsic benefits of small-scale booksellers and the difficulties that owners may have in sustaining their operations.

I loved this book. The illustrations were very beautiful and creative. The story was inspiring and teaches a very valuable lesson to children about empathy, determination, and creativity.

HILARIOUS! (And true)

I found this book at my university's campus bookstore and immediately bought it after flipping through a few pages. I had never actively read the webcomic but I recognized the artist's style, having seen it around the internet once or twice. This collection of comics is hysterical and a MUST READ for any 'cat person'. The comics are so relatable (ex: Spending $30 on a nice toy for your cat and they IMMEDIATELY would rather play in a FREE cardboard box from my recent move.)

(As an aside: I think even my two cats realize what this book is about. I woke up this morning to find one of my kitties sleeping on my copy. I guess she thinks that Cats win.)

Super Fun Read

Frankly, I don't know how someone wouldn't love this book. It's witty, funny, and oh so true.

I've been a longtime reader of Yasmine's blog and the book is just a super awesome extension of the blog - several of the same comics, with plenty of new ones that I didn't recognize. Yasmine is a natural-born storyteller and it's hard not to love her work.

Cat owners will groan - everything reeks of truth - but it's funny anyway.

Great as a gift or a coffee table book. You'll read through it over and over, enjoying the pictures and the laughter each time.

The funniest book I ever read

If you have ever had a cat you will laugh your ass off when you read this. The author is extremely taleNted and creative...she is so much fun. I have been a crazy cat lady since birth and have friends that are too. After buying this for myself, i couldnt help but buy additional copies for friends. They have all sent me great thanks and have confessed they too have read their book cover to cover multiple times and have not stopped laughing. This is the best book ever for cat lovers..buy it and enjoy many laughs. Love this and so does my husband!

Interesting characters, and interesting story line, - BUT she dwells too much on repeating how the girl is so taken by the boy and how much he is so perfect, and does not even complete one story in a book. I started it in the 1sr installment of what was supposed to be a series. It barely scratched the surface, and was really only a chapter. It figured it was a teaser and designed to lead into the story. The 2nd (?) installment?? - which I thought was supposed to be a whole story - was not. I would like to know what happens to the characters, but am not willing to pay double for one complete story, especially when so much wordage was wasted on describing the teen angst and emotions, when it was certainly established in much less time.
I think Ms Peebles has potential that could be developed and honed into some really good storytelling.

A worthy sequel

I read the first book, Enchanted Castle, ages ago and was thrilled when the second book was finally released. The cover's gorgeous, and the story blew me away. I really liked the first, but my haunted fairytale was even better. In this one, Zoey and Hunter realize their attraction is stronger than they initially thought. They've always been drawn to one another, but Hunter's a bit of a bad boy so Zoey was reluctant to get too close fearing she might be burned.
Now they're spending time together, getting to know each other, and while their romance is blossoming, paranormal activity begins to emerge in the castle slash private school.

I loved Hunter. He's definitely swoon worthy material. Zoey and he were so good together, and I really enjoyed the way they get to know each other while finding out just how much they have in common. The plot thickens with quite a bit of mystery interwoven into it. I can't wait to read book 3 and anything else this author might publish.

It's a good book, well based

The writer is soundly based in his theology and proof texts, but he has a Genesis "return things to attended" approach that I've not seen before. It's a good book, well based.

Another worthy read from Vlach

What I love about this author is that he makes his case without slinging mud on his covenantal Christian brothers & sisters. Whether you agree with his conclusions or not you will appreciate the high road he takes in making his case. The Church is in desperate need of more of this high standard on both side of the Church/Israel question.
