Great Couple

It has been a while since reading the previous Jones Girls books and I needed to go back and refresh my memory. What I enjoyed most about this book was that Angela and Brad were an already established couple and fought all their battles as a couple. Neither would allow others to get in between them. I also enjoyed that the author made a point to make us recognize that we all view things from our own personal lenses. We view family based on how our own upbringing and familial relationships were. But that we need to remember that not everyone was raised they way we were, or view family as we do. I was especially glad to see that despite his horrible childhood, Brad is ready to start his family with Angela and that she is helping him learn the true meaning of family. I loved this book and even though all sisters have been written about, I hope there is more to this series.

I love angela and Bradford as a couple. They both are equally strong. You can't mess with one and get away with it without feeling the raft of the other bouncing on you to defend. Bradford protective nature of Angela when he glares the attendant away from helping her out of his vehicle or when he wipes away the kiss Daniele place on the bak of her hand or even when he tells office personal to run everything through her. Angela steps up big time in dealing with Bradford's family. Love the exchange she sets up between Melaine Joyce and Kiva. And don't think you're reaching out to her man without going through her first. She handles her business as well as his. They are very protective of each other and handles all circumstances as a couple.

I just discovered Erosa Knowles and the worse thing I can say say about her is, "what took me so long in finding her?"

She weaves suspense like James Patterson or JD Robb/Nora Roberts.

What did I like about the story? The couple was already established therefore the narrative centered on them working together on a common goal. There were quite a few twists and turns that had me feeling like I was in an episode of Scooby Doo (I mean that in the most delicious way) Lots and lots of Red Herrings. If you don't follow the cultural reference you might want to Google it.

I look forward to reading more of the author's work.

Excellent Book on APA Style

I have a Masters Degree in Psychology and am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Special Education, so the fact that all my papers are required to be in APA format is not a problem to me. I was required, however, to purchase this book for my next course, and I must say that it is a perfect adjunct to the APA Manual. Every so often, I will forget a piece of necessary information that might seem insignificant, but is of importance. In this book, I can easily look up the particular item that I've forgotten/blanked on momentarily, or on which I just want to refresh my understanding, and find what I want in the Table of Contents. There is, unfortunately, no index so one must find the topic in the Contents section. I am not too thrilled about that but for the fact that the Contents section is fairly detailed. What I really like about this book, however, is that it gives examples of correct and incorrect usages, and the information that is being corrected is highlighted in gray. The book gives two sets of examples on one sentence, or form; one is called the draft version which is always the incorrect form, and the other is called the feedback version which is the corrected form. This goes into everything from correct comma usage to not showing bias in writing, so there are many important subjects that are covered. There are also tests which give not only the answer key, but also the exact APA code that governs the correct answer. This is especially helpful. The only thing I find confusing is a personal matter, and that is that I teach high school students who have learning disabilities and I teach them MLA formatting. The two styles do differ, and I tend, on occasion, to make the error of using MLA when I need to use APA in my own reports. Nothing huge such as formatting the References section wrong, but the occasional difference of whether to use Italics or quotation marks--well I guess that could be a big error. This workbook will, I believe, cement the APA format firmly into my mind. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who must employ proper APA styling. BTW, I bought the spiral bound version, a bit worried about the quality of the paper and whether it would easily tear, but my fears are unfounded. The paper is of good enough quality that I don't believe this will be a problem. I do wish it came in a hard cover version, always my first choice in a book to which I may be referring in the future.

Mastering APA Style.

The book was good but not great. Amazon did a great job of delivering the material, but the book wasn't what I though it would be. I am currently in my third graduate program. I like most of the student I know would like a book that is easy to navigate and find answers in. Both the mastering style and the APA 6th edition leave a lot to be desired.

Mr. Suarez has managed to pack a huge amount of information into a one volume tome. Spanning some 1480 years in 1455 pages, he has managed to provide a brief biography of each Roman and Byzantine emperor, empress, Ceasar and family member for whom coins were issued. Along with a short commentary regarding value and entry level pricing for coins, he has also broken down average prices for each denomination from ebay and other auctions. This will help give the collector an idea what these types of coins generally sold for up to the time of printing, though it should not be confused with a price guide as it is not. Neither is it just a basic work on historical or market analysis. It's strength and utility lies within the taxonomic compilation of over 60,000 coins (many in full color and enlarged) with a listing of obverse and reverse legends, type description and the very useful compilation of bust, obverse, reverse, type, mint and control device combinations with corresponding minting date and major reference listing. Combining basic academic information into a book with coffee table appeal, Mr. Suarez has produced a beautiful and very useful numismatic tool.

So what is it good for?

For the general collector, it is a great first reference for identification, attribution and useful for beginning further research on emperors, Roman and Byzantine coins, or to find major references.

For the dealer, it is useful as a quick reference guide and great for pulling out quick descriptions if not already known in full (provided you don't put it back on the shelf much, it is heavy at 9.4 pounds).

For the researcher, it is a fast reference to check attributions, control devices and useful with preliminary die studies.

A excellent numismatic research tool and aid! It should be an essential part of any ancient numismatic library.

A Comprehensive, Definitive and Beautiful Reference

ERIC II is huge, it is true, but that's because it is packed full of extensive information on Roman Imperial coins including those of the Byzantine Empire (Eastern Roman Empire). We have come a long way from the hand done line drawings seen in some earlier works. Not only are all images photographs, but they are also in color. For years I have regretted having neither the money nor the shelf space for the multi-volume RIC, but now, no more. In addition, the author uses language that is preeminently approachable and down-to-earth. I was especially taken with the pictures of his family at the beginning! This review comes with a good deal of gratitude to Rasiel Suarez for having produced this work. The numismatic community will long benefit from this (very tasty) fruit of his labors.

Best single reference for collectors

My ancient coin books now take up about 30 linear inches of bookshelf. However, the book I reach for most frequently has consistently been ERIC I. Last week I received my copy of ERIC II and have been overwhelmed by it. It's huge, beautiful, and very user friendly. It is easily the most visually-appealing ancient coin book I have ever laid eyes upon. Already, my well-worn copy of ERIC I is getting lonely on the shelf.

This book is highly recommended for ancient coin collectors, particularly those who are getting tired of the limited and often incorrect info online. The book does not replace key references such as Sear, but it's a great place to start for collectors looking for a single text to attribute virtually all of their Roman and Byzantine coins. Experienced collectors should also enjoy gawking at all of the beautiful full-color photos that make browsing the book a visual pleasure.

Very helpful for learning about DC/AC electronics. It comes with a bonus CD that makes it worth the price of a used copy. My husband, who is an electrician bought this textbook as a refresher and to glean additional information.

This book cost so much more on other websites. I am glad I was able to save money and get such a quality product at such a reasonable cost. This book was less than half the cost of other sites and stores that I viewed. As a student, what a steal!

About the Author
Rainer Waser is Professor at the faculty for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the RWTH Aachen University and director at the Institute of Solid State Research (IFF) at the HGF Research Center Jülich, Germany.
In 1984, he received his PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Darmstadt, and worked at the Philips Research Laboratory, Aachen, until he was appointed professor in 1992.
His research group is focused on fundamental aspects of electronic materials and on such integrated devices as non-volatile memories, specifically ferroelectric and resistive memories, logic devices, sensors and actuators. Throughout, he has been collaborating with major semiconductor industries in Europe, the US, and the Far East. He is member of the Emerging Research Devices working group of the ITRS.
He has organized several international conferences, published about 250 technical papers and holds ten patents. Among others, he has edited the book Nanoelectronics and Information Technology - Advanced Electronic Materials and Novel Devices, which has been published in 2003 by Wiley Inc.
Since 2002, he has been the coordinator of the research program Nanoelectronic Systems within the Germany National Research Centers (Helmholtz Association). In 2007, he has been co-founded of the Jülich-Aachen Research Alliance, section Fundamentals of Future Information Technology (JARA-FIT).
